DESCRIPTION:Discover the basics of American Sign Language in this fun\, interactive class for ages 6 and up. You will learn how signs are formed through handshape\, movement\, location\, palm direction\, and facial expression\, then put those skills into practice with simple everyday conversation. \nThe class is taught in an easy-to-follow\, supportive format\, with helpful memory tips to make new signs easier to remember. You will also learn a few Thanksgiving-themed signs to share with family and friends over the holiday! \nSuitable for ages 6 and up.  Free to attend. Registration is required. \nREGISTER TODAY\nAbout Sharon Serbin \nSharon Serbin\, a native of Pittsburgh\, is a Creative Specialist and the Director of Education at Congregation Beth El in Norfolk. She has dedicated her life to the arts through teaching\, mural painting\, commissioned projects\, and her own creative work. Sharon gradually lost her hearing and became fully deaf at age 18. \n  \n  \n* Children may not be left unattended at this event. \n\n\nThis event is funded in part by the citizens of Virginia Beach through a grant from the City of Virginia Beach Cultural Affairs. \n\n
